Shaw has played just 15 times for United since the start of the 2023/24 season, something that has been keenly felt by the Premier League giants. If he is able to play for the Red Devils soon, that will be a big boost to incoming manager Ruben Amorim.

United's interim boss, Ruud van Nistelrooy, said on Friday that the club's injury problems are starting to ease.

"Christian [Eriksen] played 30 minutes and Mason [Mount] also played (in the 2-0 Europa League win over PAOK on Thursday)," he said. "It's beneficial for us and I'm happy that they're back. For the long-term absentees like Luke [Shaw] and Leny [Yoro] they are on the pitch with us."
