Mason Greenwood continued with his strong start to the new season in France as he scored and provided an assist in Marseille's 4-0 victory over 10-man Lorient on Friday. Greenwood opened the scoring for his club from the penalty spot after Lorient lost one of their players early in the match due to a straight red card. The former Manchester United star already has five goal contributions to his name.
Marseille dominate as Greenwood scores
Lorient were dealt a major blow early in the match when Darlin Yongwa was dismissed for his challenge on Michael Amir Murillo inside the box. Greenwood broke the deadlock from the resulting penalty to score his second league goal of the season. Marseille soon doubled the lead in the 20th minute when new signing Benjamin Pavard scored from Greenwood's assist.

After a stellar debut campaign in France last season, where he ended up being the joint-highest goal-scorer in Ligue 1, alongside Ousmane Dembele, the former United player has started the new season on a strong note. He also scored and provided two assists in Marseille's second league game against Paris FC.
Marseille enter top four
With their second win in four matches, Robert De Zerbi's Marseille climbed up to fourth position in the league table with six points to their name. They have, however, already suffered two defeats already, most recently against Lyon.
